The Library Associations and Respected Library Science Persons ( Professors, Librarians, Chairman of professional bodies etc.) should raise their voice agianst the expolitaion.
my exp[erience observes that library association shud take necessary action and also take favour of politicians inthis regard
institutions are not thinking seriously the importance of librarian .... library will be grow as librarian makes it resourceful ,,, but especially AICTE is not taking action as it is very serious about teaching staff but not librarians ..... we have to rise this issue
I agree with you and we can ask for the same but we need to have a strong support. Why can't we prepare a directory for the librarian and the library staff. I have seen these colleges giving salary ranging from 10k to 15k, there is no system as such, if there are rules and regulation why they are not paying salary as per the norms of the AICTE/UGC etc.
yes i have seen the norms they have cleared in norms but they are not asking to the institutions while verification they only think about teaching that's why this is happening

Well AICTE itself  is not checking whether the Librarians are getting salary as per AICTE VIth pay commission.  The Library Associations can strongly recommend to the AICTE or this course can be cancelled  and can be offered as a part of one subjects in all curricullum right from school to higher education

Dr J K Latha, Librarian, KCG College of Technology, Chennai - 97

AICTE looking whether they have library is there or not and fulfilling their requirement or not, according to norms number of titles and journals is there or not, for maintenance of library one librarian is there or not, they have nothing to do with what salary he is getting, if they ask the question to librarian about his salary, can he tell the truth to AICTE people, i think he may not tell the truth because of the saving of his job. yes i am agree with Dr. J. K. Latha's suggestion.
AICTE Report have been submitted by our institution/Management college and I am the one of the team whose made this report. Every thing like infrastructure, salary of teaching staff, video of college, number of access journals, number of books, number of computers in computer lab each and every thing have been mention there. But unfortunately salary of non teaching staff/library have not taken place in this report.
