Dear Sri Ghante Pradipkumar;

Thanks for sharing the information

This post is actually meant for Dr. Phugnar Prasant Laxmanrao;

Congratulations for the feat.

I need to clarify my confusion. In many cases (or to be true in most cases!) relating to citation analysis, I often discovered that they are actually just report on the study of patterns of references. that means what types of materials are used by the researchers in questions and for this, just the reference parts of the respective theses are consulted. I am not demeaning the works or their quality but the thing is they are not citation analysis in real term.

If one goes through the articles on Citation analysis by Prof. Subbiah Arunachalam or those by NISTADS people, one will find the difference. For the former types, as I believe, it makes more sense if the titles are framed as A study of referencing pattern of....

Again I am repeating that my intention is not to demean the hard work or question the quality of the work but I had my personal baffling experience as in several occasions I paid for a copy of works with nearly similar titles (to prepare certain bibliometrical reports) and was completely upset to find that the contents are somewhat different.

With congratulations to Dr. Laxmanrao once again!

Siddhartha S. Ray, Calcutta.

 I convey my heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Prashant Laxmanrao Phugnar on his achievement.  I also wish to pursue Doctoral Degree in Bibliometrics.  I wish to know - (1)How many universities did you cover under Western India. 2. Did you also include open universities 3.  What period (time) did you cover under your study?
