Different Accessioning Register should be a better option. coz when you wana count the number of donated books it will be easier. But if you use the same accession register with those that are bought it will be very difficult to count those donated when the collections are more (library is a growing organism - including collections)

sir, you can maintain separate Acc register for gifted/donated/free copy received from any organisation person, because when your library's collection is increase than it is easy to maintain separate data of donated book. you can also maintain the single acc register for all books but it is more beneficial to maintain separate Acc register for gifted/donated book.

Dear Library Professional

You should make separate book register for Donated/Gifted books. It helps you to maintain proper record of gifted books.

Dear Sir,

You should make separate Acc. register for Free/Donated/Gifted books.

It helps you to maintain proper record of gifted/free/ books.

my suggestion is, keep in same accession register.

Y it is count ?

Hi All,

I am sharing my Experience hope it will benefit you,

I am using separate register for gifted and personal books,

and using various  series of accession No. like my gifted and personal Books starts in Series P0000

conference series starts with Series C0000

I find it very simple and our library Management s/w also supports this

having separate register and one OPAC is very help and user friendly

Regards,

Ram

In my opinion you have to maintain 2 Acc. Register,

(1) Main Acc. Register in which you enter all the books of library, from which you know total books available in library

(2) Donated books Acc. Register in which you write only Sr.No. , Acc. No. , Title and Amount of donated books. from which you know total details of donated books.
