Firstly thank you for sharing two circular by UGC regarding academic Status of Librarians. It will really help me a lot. I will also put it over web so that people who are in need of it can get it easily.

I have not gone through your third attachment, but I will definitely go through it and will support you on every aspect.

I am not able to open files academic status 1 and 2, perhaps these are corrupted. please mail these file to me at pawanagrawal4u4u@gmail.com and reattach for the benefit of the Library professionals.

 I thanks for the sharing of this circular to all the professional friends.Shriman Badan Barman ji please work on this ,UGC  has deleted the  Librarins in giving grants for attending  conferences, minor research projects Etc In the 12th plan ..I request all the professional organizations in this regard

Do Librarians really get position as teachers now....

We are treated as non teaching staff now. though working as UGC librarian.

Worthy..
But discrimination prevails in AICTE, MCI, DCI, CoA..etc approved self financing institutions.College Librarians with a National Teaching Eligibility are regarded as less prevailed. Can the forum get an equivalent award from the AICTE?

Dear Sir,

the letters attached regarding the status of librarian have been issued a decade or more years back. the last year UGC issued a letter to Haryana Govt. (I have copy of the letter and can provide who ever is interested) in which it has been clearly mentioned that "Librarian should be treated as non-academic non vacational staff". we approached the UGC and they remained on the same stand that Librarians are non-academic staff. we demanded information through various RTIs but UGC did not write even a single line on the teaching/academic status of Librarian. Ultimately we approached to Central Information Commission and prayed to provide us the document/rule/regulation on the basis of which UGC has categorized librarian as non-academic staff. CIC ordered to the UGC to provide the appropriate documents on the issue but UGC officials supplied the irrelevant information. i again approached to the CIC against the documents/information supplied, the case is again in row.

so we need not to be happy as again and again ugc is trying to categorized us as non-academic staff and the recent example is XII eleventh year plan's notification for major/minor projects eligibility.

really you are doing good work. please keep it continuously sir!!!!!!!!!!!!

also We should wake up & fight together against latest decision taken by UGC on Minor & Major Research

In many cases UGC, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh Govt. issues circular that Librarians are Academic / Teaching Staff. I have uploaded all such documents over a webpage which you can access at http://circular.lislinks.com/ (Kindly scroll down the page). You can attached a copy of all such documents in your (off course it is ours also) fight to UGC/CIC/Others.
