Opac is online public Access Catalog it basically use as a  search tool for library documents. One can search a documents in  opac through several field like by subject, author, publisher, accession no or browse by title also.

OPAC stands for online public access catalogue. It is used in library to search their collection by computer. Users can also use it to search their query regarding books, journals, thesis, and so on.It provids help to users to search their demanded book in others library collection through web opac.Also provide help in classification, Data entry and also to regarding number of copies of a particular document. It replaces the use of catalogue cards and also make library free in terms of space from bulky catalogue cabinets.As compared to catalogue cards it provids enough fields to broaden the search of users.There is no need to go to particular library for searching of a demended book as it can be done within a second through web opac.

An OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) is an online bibliography of a library collection that is available to the users. Users can type search term in blank area. Search criteria can be Title, Author, Publisher, Call No., Subject, Topic, Accession No., ISBN, Barcode No., Series.
