Dr. Madhav Pandey, University Librarian, IGKV Raipur has been honored with the country's best Librarian award on the occasion of International Conference of Agricultural Librarians Innovation Growth and Sustainability of Agricultural Libraries ICAUC-2022, 28-29 April 2022, organized at Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat,

He was selected from more than two hundred Librarians, serving to agricultural organizations, ICAR institutes, Agricultural Universities and Agricultural Colleges during the international conference organized by the Association of Agricultural Librarians and Documentalists of India (a union of librarians and documentation officer). It should be noted that Nehru Library of Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Chhattisgarh has been declared as the Regional Library of Central India by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research for its activities and online services, in the past Library has also been awarded for two consecutive years in 2018 and 2019 for its better e-resources and maximum use of online services by the user. It is the first university in the country to search and download more than 3.76,692 research articles in the year 2021 covid transition period. For the good efforts being made by Dr. Madhav Pandey for the upliftment of agricultural education and for his achievement, a congratulatory message has been sent by the Agricultural University family and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research.

NEHRU LIBRARY, INDIRA GANDHI KRISHI VISHWAVIDYALAYA

Introduction

The Nehru Library established in 1987. Nehru Library of IGKV is well equipped with the modern automated services. This was strengthen by the involvement of ICAR through NATP/NAIP and Chhattisgarh Government supported for it’s infrastructure development and provided other facilities. The library is functioning as Central Library of Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya. The Library is well equipped with latest communication and information technologies including web based online e-services, e-resources and internet browsing. The library is a member of Consortium for e-Resources (CeRA) for online journals agricultural resources and major partner of Krishikosh national institutional repository. Nehru Library maintains around one lakh collection i.e. books, reports, theses, monographs, journal volumes, e-Resources and other reference materials. Library subscribes > hundred fifty journals in physical form and > 4000 electronically. The library has a working ‘Cybrary’ with highly configured terminals and Wi-Fi connectivity. Nehru Library equipped with CCTV and  RFID  system with self  issue return, drop box facilities.
