Dear Library & Information professionals, as you aware that teachers day is celebrated on 5th september in our country. We (our library professionals) also considered as teachers. But we are celebrating librarians day on August 12th. Since we are celebrating our day in different day, in working places we are considered as non teaching staff members. To avoid this clash Why we should not celebrate our Librarians day on Teachers day itself on september 5th every year?

Children know that if they have a question about the world, the library is the place to find the answer. And someone will always be there to help them find the answer--our librarians. (A librarian's) job is an important one. Our nation runs on the fuel of information and imagination that libraries provide. And they are in charge of collecting and sharing this information in a helpful way. Librarians inform the public, and by doing so, they strengthen our great democracy. - Laura Bush. Teacher, Librarian and Former First Lady of the United States
