Dear Library & Information professionals, as you aware that teachers day is celebrated on 5th september in our country. We (our library professionals) also considered as teachers. But we are celebrating librarians day on August 12th. Since we are celebrating our day in different day, in working places we are considered as non teaching staff members. To avoid this clash Why we should not celebrate our Librarians day on Teachers day itself on september 5th every year?

yes sir your are right now you are thinking like a perfect professional Librarian, no teacher will be ready to  come for  Librarian job because they cant handle the library  even a single day without technial Knowledge ,can you tell them to classify ,catalouge ,merge  atleast 10 books without your help.see one thing i dont want to argue with you i want to say the importance of Librarians in society  and even S.R Ranganathan being a mathmatician professor he was thinking like you about the  library and now he is the Father of Library Science .every success will start with dedication and positive thinking about the profession .

Information Scientist means scattering of all Subject information to the right person in Time  is possible by Librarians only .Be Positive in your profession

thankyou

Children know that if they have a question about the world, the library is the place to find the answer. And someone will always be there to help them find the answer--our librarians. (A librarian's) job is an important one. Our nation runs on the fuel of information and imagination that libraries provide. And they are in charge of collecting and sharing this information in a helpful way. Librarians inform the public, and by doing so, they strengthen our great democracy.  - Laura Bush. Teacher, Librarian  and Former First Lady of the United States

Make the common man love books and cultivate reading habit. -

Dr.  S R Ranganathan. Teacher, Librarian and Father of Library Science India
