Is it the time to go for 5 years Library and Information Science course?

Dear professionals,

Do you think that it is the time to redesign our course. The subject coverage is so vast, that 2 years course can not fully equip the students. Like other subjects our subjects should also be given as a subject in UG level, then 2 years PG. But some senior professionals & teachers opposing it.

Definitely, the course should be validated by ugc, other wise it is useless.

so, how should we approach ugc................

I think LIS Associations should do this work, all asso. should give one presentation to MHRD and UGC for 5 years integreted course .

thaks

kaushik

Let us try to configure out a syllabus.
I believe that the teachers and senior professionals of LIS Links can take lead role in this way.

first of All we will prepare the sylabus for 3+2 pattern, then can forward it to IASLIC, IATLIS for further action

Yes Sir, You are right about syllabus, we should start from fundamental to digital, also we should examine some big insstitute of India like DRTC and TISS, we should tak ehelp of some sinior Professor.

Thanks

Kaushik

there is no need for 5 years library and information science course. it will taking more time for completing

the course. before starting the 5 yrs. course, we should try for enlarging the scope of library in multiple sectors.
