How Can UGC Have different eligibility criteria for passing NET Exam ?

Dear friends

I want to discus on UGC 's  policy which against our constitutional right-  right to equality  (article 14 )

I think there is no exam in India or world  have different passing level for category wise  like UGC Net , than

How Can UGC Have different eligibility criteria for passing NET Exam

1) How can they justify person of SC, ST Teacher with 55% is good teacher can become good teacher, can give more knowledge to students , then students who have scored 60 to 65 % , I am from Open category scored 64% and my name is not there in list but  person of SC category with 55% name is there in list ....and OBC  category 60 % name is there in list ....

As per Ugc Notification at entry level  OBC And  General  category both have same eligibility criteria 55 % in   PG exam but at ugc result   it different  OBC student want 60%  and   General student have to get     65% . I ask to all of you dear friends where is our constitutional right  right to equality go ?  an it is done by a    government body like UGC ?

2) Passing marks must be same for all , no body is entering into constitutional right of SC/ST as roster is there for  50% reservation in employment.   But  All the exam have same passing level

3) UGC must not play with future of student whom this teachers will teach ...Instead UGC Must take care to  make them skilled and eligible to get same passing marks. just  imagine if there is same provision in  medical college  than what ? at entry level  SC ST and OBC  student have less % but at the passing level all are same. Than why Ugc play with teacher's future

4) If this will be criteria ..for future exams there will be 100% marks to be scored for open to pass OBC 50% SC/ST Just have to appear in exam .

5) Why only 0.5% Open category result For NET exam what I am hearing .

I totally agree Merit needs to be the prime yardstick in any selection also NET.

Good effort

sir, I agree with u because of not only I belongs to general category. the problems raised by u were in my mind too for last some days.but I didn't know how to react against this . I had noticed that some people wishes u for qualifying in the next exam.but all had forgotten to tell about the age limit.for qualifying JRF age limit is only 28 for general category. what should we do if we get ony limited chances and tuff criteria for qualifying NET? How will we react against this ill practice of UGC.Now a days the living status of all middle class people were same with out any concession whether they belongs to general, SC/st, or OBC.So the sufferings for study as well as living were also same. But when we came to schools, colleges or any institutions for study or job these reservation categories were getting maximum scholarships, fee concession etc. That we can accept with open mind besides our feelings. But why this mark criteria being different only because of  being in a general category. From this we can think that the government itself strive for creating an ineqality among its citizen by caste, caste creed etc.if u agree with me please reply and what should we do against this ?

you are right, this must be discussed.

I,d like to thank to all for your valuable comments in this forum. All of you are highly qualified. All of you are right at your side.I agree that in this economic condition reserve should be made on the basis of economic status of a family.Because I found that a lot of reserve category people belongs to the upper strata of the society and enjoying all reserve category facilities but actually they don't need it.Besides a number of general category family are suffering a lot to maintain their family. The policy-makers of India felt further to uplift those general category. Thus the OBC Category created excluding the CREAMY LAYER people. But among those sc/st category creamy layer cannot be excluded because of political issue but I personally feel it should be done .

One example:- Suppose you are the parents of four child. Will it be possible that all child should be in same merit level? never. As a parent you should pay a little extra attention to the low meritorious child because you love all four child.India is our mother land and all the post-independence policy-makers treated the Indians as their child. If they had narrow-minded,we never called M.K.Gandhi, THE FATHER OF INDIAN NATION.Please explain the following issues.

  1. Whether all the UGC recruited reserve category teachers are of low quality??????
  2.  If UGC set  65% qualifying marks for all. What happened? You the non-qualified people be passed? Only a few number of  reserve people be passed covering this benchmark because I got 63% belong to reserve category and a lot of reserve category people covered 65% benchmark. So please don't be jealous to them.
  3. All of us can remember that  what is happening to the HORIZON (lower category) people till the day.
  4. Even lower category people are not permitted to enter in the temple.

Do you feel that you don't need to save them? Whether they are getting the equality Mr.Hitendrasinh????

Whether they don't have the right to enter in The School????????????????

yes sir you are right
I strongly agree with you
only net exam failed so all are carrying
anybody thinking about backward caste person life from freedom to till date

I never against  the process of uplift the SC /ST/OBC  . when they apply for NET they want only 50% in pg subject but open category  student wants 55%  . At this level  they got there special category fever from UGC  and any one can agree with this this is process of uplift them . But the passing level should  be same for all .

please give me example if any other eligibility  exam have different  passing  level in india ?

you say for  lower category people are not permitted to enter in the temple if ti is true than they have to fight for there right and we all support  them . I think you want to divert the real issue .

My only Issue is that     UGC Have different eligibility criteria for passing NET Exam is  this  criteria make injustice for general category  student's  ?

Dear friends  I want say  sorry  for all if anyone hurt with my this topic  . But  this is hard reality  of GENERAL  CATEGORY STUDENT'S .

THANK you  Mr Ashok  Mistry  for sagging  me for going  Court .i definitely  think on it .

you have to  remember that reservation is not permanent  provision.  when it started  our father  of  nation is against  it .According to him all Indian's  are  equal .

HITENDRASINH  DESAI

Dear Mr. Ashok, It seems that with time you have become meritorious and intelligent enough to call others as "You the non-qualified people " "jealous of you "  etc.. These type of comments is not expected from a person securing 63% in NET. Qualifying NET is not the end of the world. Anyways congrats for your success.

It seems that you are not living in 21st century, may be residing some centuries ago, where you are talking about people not allowing others to enter schools, temples etc. In todays world these things rarely happen not even in very interior rural areas. And these things have nothing to do with the discussion.

Reservation system was introduced mainly to abolish poverty, to provide SC/ST/OBCs  with free knowledge, economic help, resources of daily life etc. free of cost which is being provided to the SC/ST/OBCs from centuries ago and no body has no objection against it.  These things were not equally distributed in our society in early times and Government took this step to bring equality . But "brain" has been distributed equally among all of us. Merit is developed by hard work and proper utilisation of brain. When SC/ST/OBCs are provided with all social and economic help, free education , everything free of cost where is the need to still provide them reservation in qualifying exams and jobs? There should not be any reservation in qualifying exams and securing jobs. Merit should be properly judged, specially in exams like NET/SET, Medical exams, civil services etc. the qualifiers are which are building block of our nation.

But as I said that Reservation system is incurable in India because people have and are enjoying the sweet taste of Reservation and will continue to enjoy it for the sake of their own interest.

Ms.Anusua please go through the news.
