Why Library Science should not be included in the ITI?
Why our subject Library & Information science should not be included with ITI like fitter, mechanic, electrician, wireman course? Even there is no use in studying upto Ph.D in Lib. Sc. The qualification for ITI is 8th std pass or fail. So why not our subject called as library technician course and merged with ITI and basic qualification to enter is 8th standard pass or fail?

I agree your words...ITI is not professionals but they are demanded everywhere and can earn as per their work but librarians not demanded everywhere and getting more torture and most insulted than others.

I suppose Librarians are underpaid. Nowadays minimum qualification of librarian is M.Lib. And that too they r recruited on ad hoc basis with Rs. 5000/- or 10,000/-. Such a meagre amount compared to today's life.
Also, the masters in different disciplines of science working as researchers or scientist are paid better.

It may be ITI can Include in Lib. Sc subject in course. but It is use full for Library Attendant post not eligible for Library Professional .

ย mr manic..earlier job oriented course for 2 years was started by vocational ย board..but after finishing that course also there were very few job opportunities. we are having diploma in lib sc, Blisc, Mlisc and phd also then i dont ย feel any ITI is require to create more unemployment among librarian professional
