Library Management system is simply a system for managing library using different tools & techniques i.e., Classification, Cataloging etc. and Information Management system is a system for managing information. Tools and techniques may be varied for managing information up to some extent, but Library also deal in information services, that's why you can also consider the Information Management System as a part of Library Management System, but it is not always necessary that IMS should compulsorily a part of LMS. So many different organizations also manage information by their own, but more or less they have to follow same techniques what Libraries and Information centers do.
