Dear Mr. Vasistha,

I think M Phil through distance holds value only for those candidates who submitted their thesis prior to june'09. After that most of the reputative universities (i.e MKU, Algappa etc.) stop conducting M. Phil through distance mode. Even UGC no more gives distinction to M phil through this mode.

regards,

T.S. Handa

sir thanks,

but kindly see the my attachment on discussion. whatever you are telling that all only follow for regular student bcoz as per ugc notice after june 2009 mphil enrolled student not exempted from net.

hi Sir,

it means before June 2009  have completed M.Phill. degree's are exempted from net.

but this exemption only for Ph.d. holders before june 2009.

regards

chander datt

no sir now m.phil and phd holder both exempted from net who has completed his mphil/phd before june 2009. see ugc circular 472 or my attachment.

thank you

dear sir,

May i know one thing I did mphil in 2005 from alagappa university distance education then you mean I also exempted from ugc net. Is ir correct please expalin me?

yes sir, but i have a doubt about it somebody told me that before 2006 m.phil stopped by ugc and again it started only for 3 years. but i will tell you after confirmation.

thanking you very much to replied very soon whatever you have take the information regard this please please inform me after checked my record I did mphil in 2005 from alagappa university.

realy sir you are very helpful nature.

I think Handa ji is correct because UGC is not allowing M. Phil. through distance mode.

Dear Friend,

If before the particular date then why not present and future. What is logical thought ?

We are discussing and following the guidelines of UGC, AICTE, Secretary of Higher Education of State govt etc.  Did you think, how they are diluting the rules and regulation ? For example - you can observe anywhere how they passing the act to start the universities, institutes, either pvt or others.

Did you think that how it is possible to get a regular degree for working person. IGNOU is also operating the programme M.Phil/Ph.D through distance mode.

In fact you will find in so many state universities there are below level employee and they are getting the grant from UGC.

After all the Quality should be maintained.

Regards,

Is there any guidelines for minimum duration for MPhil course? It is came to know that during 2007-2008 (i.e last admission through distance mode) some universities are awarded MPhil within 6 months. it includes notification of the course, registration exam etc.
