Vacancy for Library Professional Trainees 2021-2022

The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) Library is looking for young, dynamic, tech-savvy, highly motivated, and committed FRESH Post-Graduates in Library & Information Science from recognized Indian universities with consistent good academic record, to serve as Library Professional Trainee purely on a temporary basis for six months to one year. Persons having good communication and interpersonal skills with enthusiasm to learn new skills and deliver services using emerging new tools and technology will be preferred.

Essential Qualifications:  Masters in Library & Information Science (M.L.I.Sc.) or equivalent with First Class

Nature of Traineeship: Learn while you work on different functions & services of the library.  

Duration: The duration of traineeship will be for six months to one year from the date of joining depending on requirement & performance.

Remuneration: Consolidated stipend of Rs. 22,000/- per month.

The selected candidates will work from Monday-Saturday (six days a week) and be ready to work in different shifts and weekends on a rotation basis.

Selection of candidates will be based on their consistent good academic record, performance in the written test and personal interview.

Number of Trainees to be admitted:  FIVE

Age Limit: Not exceeding 26 years as 1^st November, 2021 (the last date for submitting an application). Relaxation for SC, ST and PD category candidates (up to Age Limit-31 years) and OBC category (up to Age Limit-29 years) will be applicable as per Govt. of India rules. Age may be relaxed in the case of an exceptionally good candidate.

Note:

• Interested candidates who meet the above mentioned requirements may send their application through ONLINE form on or before 1^stNovember, 2021 along with a scanned copy of all required documents.
• The shortlisted candidates will be called to appear for the Written Test.
• The written test will be in English.
• The dates for the written test will be announced in due course of time and the details for the same will be shared via e-mail.
• Based on the performance in the written test, selected candidates will be called for an Interview on the same day.
• Candidates are requested to send one set of scanned copies of all relevant certificates in support of date of birth, qualifications, category, etc. along with application form as ONE FILE.

• A certificate of experience will be issued to those who complete at least six months of internship.

Candidates who have passed in their final year M.L.I. Sc. examination should only apply and must submit a copy of the marks card in proof of having passed the examination with FIRST CLASS without which the candidate will not be shortlisted for written test.
