With great pleasure to inform you that Resource Centre of National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Taramani, Chennai is going to organize a National Workshop on “KOHA: An Open Source Integrated Library Management Software” from 14th to 18th August 2017.
The broad objective of this workshop is to provide a suitable forum:
To create awareness among professionals about open source technology and its application in library practices.
To Introduce the Linux operating system to the participants.
To acquaint the participants with the installation of Koha .
To provide extensive hands-on-training to the participants so as to enable them to work independently.
To promote competencies to the participants for managing Koha for effective library management.
Target Audience will be:
Faculty of Library Science.
LIS professional working in educational Institutions, Technical Institutions, R & D Centres and Universities and
Students of LIS.
Koha is regarded is highly sophisticated Integrated Library System (ILS) in the open source domain which offers full fledged ILS including OPAC, circulation, cataloguing, acquisitions, serials control etc. The workshop provides the technical knowledge to the participants for the installation, customization and running of various library applications.
I am writing to request you to kindly make it convenient to attend the National Workshop on “KOHA: An Open Source Integrated Library Management Software” from 14th to 18th August 2017 at NITTTR, Chennai and send your confirmation at the earliest. In addition, we would request you to kindly nominate one/two library professionals from your organization to attend the above mentioned workshop.
