I appreciate your zeal for developing your Library.
As I did some consultancies for Health Related NGOs, I understand the crisis and demand for development. Here I am suggesting for initiating projects for your own.You just scan your organization's projects. It may be on Maternal & Child health, Disease prevention, Reproductive health HIV/AIDS etc. (Since I am out of Medical Librarianship for more than 2 decades, I am sort of "rusty" in respect to the research activities of various institutes and post retirement I am heading a newly established Private University Library and as it is in its growing stage, I have very little time to concentrate on other institutes' activities.) Now you can do "mapping' of research undertaken by your organization and explore possibilities of public/target group "awareness" through for instance mobile telephony. (I understand the shortage of staff and work load in NGO Libraries). Discuss with your Senior Colleagues who you find encouraging about feasibility of your proposed project and chalk out a plan. As Cehat is Mumbai based organization, if need be, you may consult with Mr. Vijay Podwal at Librarian National Institute of Immunohematology, an ICMR institute and refer my name if you feel like. If you intend to work on HIV?AIDS, contact Dr. Samiran Panda, Director, National Aids Research Institute of Vosari, Pune. He is an extremely dynamic Scientist and encourage young people who wants to work. I know him for quarter of a Century.
I did not explain these in the LIS forum and that us why I am mentioning these in the comment forum.
I will be happy if my suggestions help you in your job.
With all my good wishes for your professional endeavour.
