This has reference to the queries from various StakeholdersAlniversities seeking
clarifications with regard to the terms of eligibility criteria for guiding Ph.D. Scholars. In this
connection, the Commission (UGC) in its 565th meeting held on 20ft January,2023, discussed
the eligibility criteria for guiding Ph.D. scholars and resolved as under:
"Eligible permanent faculty members can guide Ph.D. scholars during their
probation period also."
