Solution to Net-Question (Jun 2010): Digital Divide

This concept or phrase was asked in the UGC-NET (jun 2010) paper and here i am gona give some definition of digital divide.
Digital divide is a phrase given to "information and technology gap".


Digital Divide refers to:
  • the perceived gap between those who have access to the latest information technologies and those who do not.
  • the gap between those with and without access to internet access
  • the gap between individuals, households, businesses and geographic areas at different socio-economic levels with regard both to their opportunities to access information and communication technologies (ICTs) and to their use of the Internet for a wide variety of activities.
  • address the inequalities of computer ownership and internet access and use.
  • the gap between those who can effectively use new information and communication tools, such as the internet, and those who cannot.


Digital divide is often measure in terms of the personal computer ownership and internet access. The two groups on both side of the gap are commonly known as "haves" those are information rich and on other side " have-nots" those who are information poor.
The "haves" group of people have most powerful computers and also fast internet access whereas the "have-nots" group of people does not have these.

Brief details what is intute ?
Intute is a subject directory. It was previously know as Resource Discovery Network (RDN).
i think intute comes in Research Methodology. intute means go through the research articles or research Theses to get clue of research topic for once research
it is also structured data. meta data contains Essentially two parts ,such as 1) DATA FIELD and 2)DATA ELEMENT.
EX:

DATA FIELD /DATA ELEMENT
Creator / Name or Names of Authors
Subject / Calcification, Catalogue
so that reason i put this Question to discussion. these both terms confusing me
