Hello Yusuf,
I personally think negative marking is a good attempt to promote the genuine canditates aspiring for NET. In my opinion negative marking won't affect the performance of candidates, because if the candidate is confident that he/she has attempted the enough questions for qualifying the paper, there is no need to attempt the questions he/she is not familiar with.

Nice question asks , Many students r more stress given for P-III, but P-I, P-II is more important b,case lot of students not passed in P-I,II so more then 60-70% students r not qualify 4 P-III so look at the results of Dec-2009 NET, The first paper is quite difficult & plus negative marking system is applied so lot of confusion ..
again UGC dec that Negive marking system is not apply for the next NET exam its good decision 4 students point of view
