LIS Links should conduct training courses in Open Source Softwares and its Utilities (Koha, DSpace, Moodle, etc) |
In the year 2012 we would try to collaborate with some agencies in organizing such training programmes and such type of programmes will be broadcast to all the members of the LIS Links site. |

LIS Links should look like a community than a single person’s child |
Yes, some people contributed a lot towards the site, and so they are promoted a little bit. I think it is justifiable. Even if you devote sometime towards the site to achieve its goal then you will also get that opportunity. But we are still a community and not a single person’s child. See, in the apex level there must be someone to take care of it, it’s just like a traditional organization that have a director, secretary and so on. |

We already removed the paid membership option of the site. The lists of paid members are available over the site. Now we run on advertisement and donation. |

Hey Badan,
Was away due to some unavoidable circumstances, so couldn't take part, but am so pleased to see people coming up with their ideas. Good that LIS Links has created such an awareness pool.
I just want to give one suggestion - please take one more survey based on job satisfaction among library professionals .. I would be very happy to draft a questionnaire .. I believe this is necessary as since many days people talk about problems but nothing concrete has yet been done about working environment available for the library professionals. I really expect interesting results and may be then all of us can approach concerned associations for corrective measures so that the status of LIS professionals can be improved.
Just a suggestion although we can always invite voting kind of process for taking up this issue or not.

Dear Badanji,
I have also raised an issue under this discussion i.e., that we should try to develop an open source library management software and Digital library software, as many of us have wast experience of maintaining libraries and we know the problems of existing softwares, many of us have also been engaged in the process of library automation, so we can collect better suggestions and can develop better software.
I hope LISlinks technical team can support us in technical issues. I think LISlinks is best social networking site in the world and may be one and only. If we can be the best in the world then why can we develop a open source software?
