How to inculcate reading habit of the students in this digital era
I have been in a Management institute for a long time. I always used to feel trouble with the students who are not interested to
read printed information sitting in the library and those who comes to the
library only to issue text books for the sake of the examination. No doubt we
are bound to walk side by side with technology at per demand of the digital
era, people have to get the information in no time from anywhere (like as virtual
and digital environment) but still readers should not lose the habit of
reading. I need some useful tips how to increase the reading habit and use of
the printed information.

Including as above mention ideas,the reading material should be informative and as per students interest,good library facility should be provided,ease accessibility should be added, it means if every professional follow the principles of library science then users can be bound to for use of reading material

Dear Librarian,
In my college, I am getting touch with the whole students by the way of visiting class rooms.
In my visting hour they are in full consentration with my words better than their own subject hour.
Because, I am telling small stories, discussion about present news and some jokes.
Hence, I just break the hesitation towards use the library resources.
As a library professional we have to read more than the teachers.
A teacher knows their own subject only, but the librarian must know all the subject
which are being tought by the parent organisation.
And I am conducting quize for our MBA students and the winners are being prized
( a samll pen or Note pad will kindle their intrest)
The same practice is being made at nearby Schools also.
It will create awawareness about library resources

Dear Renganathan,
I really appreciate the initiatives you have been undertaken to extract out interests of the students towards the library and its resources. I concur all the points u all have referred.
Our library is fully equipped with rich collections of the required subject field. I have been delivering current awareness service regularly and interacting personally to the students regarding the resources and i so far have succeeded to create a comfort zone with the students. But when ever they need something they just like to go through the e-resources to gain the information and to save the time rather than the printed resources.
Thank you for your suggestions.

reading habit among children is nt only a problm of sinr levl it start from d scol.d root of dis habit r in scol.so if roots r powrful branches atometicly.thats y scol librarian shud cre 4 dis.his or her duty is most important.sir m hapy 2 kno dat u r cr 4 dis.if dis attidud coms at evry level of evry library den situatn r difernts.

1. expose ur library in frnt of ur studnt, take dem as a custmer nt as a studnt or readr.
2. Provid them al digital era facility.coz first u hav 2 attract them 2wrds library.
3. Always be ready 4 der help.
4. Giv dem d knoldge to hw 2 use d library.
5. N one n last thing which i also used tim to tim,dat is tak der clases n tel dem d benifit of reading habit n library also.

Dear Kankana,
I want share some suggestion for the increase use of library.
1.You can go to classroom and share any new recently topic with the students.New topic means latest issue,any technology equipment like new model of mobile,laptop, bike, motor,PC,pen drive etc....
2.you prepare one article from the any new journal and share review in the classroom.
3.two time in the week,you can noticed title of the any article related to the student on the noticeboard.example:
"India's MOST valuable CEO...........Pl go to Library and refer BUSINESSWORLD Magazine Vol-30/28"
4.You can increase good collection regarding Novel,Motivational,Inspiration,Short stories and share review in the classroom or Notice board.
5.you can share importance of the journal & magazine with students.
